The block is released, follows the trajectory shown, and strikes the floor a horizontal distance D from the edge of the table. The spring constant is 100 N/m. Air resistance is negligible. (Refer to diagram if necessary)
Determine the following:
a) The time elapsed from the instant the block leaves the table to the instant it strikes the floor
b) The horizontal component of the velocity of the block just before it hits the floor.

so..F= 100 . 0,2 = 20 N
next you must calculate accelaration a=F/m=20/1=20 m/s2
until travel to the edge of table

H = (1/2) g.tb^2
2 = (1/2).10. tb^2
2 = 5 tb^2

tb = 0,63
a> time elapsed =T = ta + tb = 0,14 + 0,63 = 0,77 second
b> the horizontal velocity always constant so the answer Vtx =2,8284 m/s
