Camera settings for glitter makeup and flash?
Was the first time photographing glitter for a beauty shoot..
flash on, gold glittery eyes (face to face, very glowey/glistening/sparkly, very gold!..)
custom white balance, But all the photos i took, the gold looked silver, with slower shutter, the sparkles dragged all different colours so didnt like that either..
What type of settings should i be looking at for this to be perfect without much retouching?
should i be looking at fast or slow shutter? what distance should a flash with softbox be from subject? and should i be going for a high power or low strobe power? please help!.
Not all were silver, but the non silver looking ones, just looked skin colour with glistens of difference colour sparkles...... photos wern't bright either.. just the colour was all wrong on the eyes?
There are a lot of details missing, and even then it would be hard to give specifics without being there.
1) the "sparkles dragged all different colours" is from movement (due to the slower shutter). Living creatures move even when they are still.
2) bulbs come in different "temperatures"...a 3500K (or less) bulb has more yellow/red in the light and 4500K (and above) is more blue. Gels can be used to modify the color.
3) A high power light further away can give the same amount of light as a low power light close up, but the shadow effects will be different.
