Start Your Acting Career The Right Way
So, you've finally decided to get up the courage to start your acting career, but have no clue how to start. Worry not! This article is for you.
The premiere website, ActorPoint.com, provides helpful information on how you can get started on your career path the right way. They also provide plenty of female monologues, movie monologues, and casting calls. Make use of the tips below to help start your career or simply refine the skills you have already.
Go to School
There's nothing complicated about this. Learn what you are doing. Even if you're "a natural", you still have to learn certain techniques that will be expected of you. Consider the professionals: they are always learning and improving their skills. Learning and improving is the way to go in the acting industry.
Know Where You Want to Go
What is it you really want to do? Show business can be very rewarding and there's lots to do. There's a belief that actors must be able to do everything under the sun. However, your value as an actor will grow if your have clear goals and set your mind on doing exactly what you want to do.
Don't Just Act Like A Professional - Be A Professional
Don't allow yourself to be distracted by celebrity gossip! Successful actors may behave vainly, but they aren't stupid. They must play nice with both the public and directors (if they wish to keep getting work). So, don't let punctuality be an issue for any acting gigs you get, play nice with both the public and your fellow actors, and be ready to work if you get hired. And chances are that you'll be remembered when a "big break" comes knocking.
Be Persistent
There are highs and lows in just about any industry and acting isn't an exception. You can go from being actively employed to not having even one gig for many months. Don't get discouraged and call it quits. Any offtime you get you should use productively to sharpen your skills or even take more acting classes. This helps you stay focused and positive. As well, it helps keep your skills sharp and ready for your next job.
Network
The saying, "it's who you know" very much applies in this industry. Never forget that you just may be one individual away from getting where you want to go. Not everyone is out for themselves. So, stay in contact with those you meet who are wiling to help you. And keep your eye on things that are occurring in the industry. In conclusion, knowing the right people greatly increases your odds of making it big.
Stay Faithful to Who You Are
Acting is one of the few professions where you're expected to be someone else on camera. When you're not on the set, however, you just have to be yourself. It's a wondeful feeling when you're secure - and comfortable - with who you are. And if you want to be remembered - being yourself is the best way to go.
What kind of SLR's have the wireless off-camera flash features? I'm looking to set up my softboxes wirelessly.?
I want to purchase a new SLR that has the wireless off-camera flash feature. I'm just wondering if there are any under the $1,000 price range? I just want to get rid of all the cables and make it a little easier for possibility of transporting them to various locations.
I don't know of any. You'll have to look into a transmitter that attaches to the hot shoe and then the receiver on which the flash is attached.
But here's a good place to shop because I've been wrong before.
