Is this studio lighting kit worth £69?
I'm just wondering if I should buy this lighting kit. I don't do alot of studio photography but I will be making a short film soon. Is it worth the £69 they're selling it for in my local shop?

I'm an ametur so I don't quite understand what you mean by colour balance, is that white balance? I'm going to be using a 550D to shoot the short film, will that allowed me to calibrate the colour? I also have a XHA1 available but I think I'd rather shoot on the 550D.
It's a continuous light system rather than flashes (strobes) so I would think it suitable for film work. If you were doing stills shooting I'd be recommending flashes instead.
Chris is referring to white balance - the lights in the kit will have a yellowy tint like tungsten household bulbs. You can correct this with your camera - where you run into real difficulties is when you have mixed light sources of different 'colour temperatures' - the camera cannot correct for this & its a nightmare to sort out in post, so stick with one type of light if you can.
The other option is to 'gel' the lights with colour correcting gels so they match (if you're planning to use them with, say daylight, then they'd need a CTB gel).
