It looks like some metal assembly with socket and wires... plug.. Tried really hard to pull.... but did not budge.....need help with illustration... or good explanation.....

You open the trunk and look to which side the light that is out is on. Those i dont remember if carpet covers the lamp assembly but if it does move it out of the way(usually little plastic push clips).
Find the bad light. Now the light bulb fits into its slot only ONE WAY. so what you do is grab the light and dont pull it but turn it until it lines up with the opening on the housing and you can take it out. Once you do that. YOu grab the glass(given that its still there and not blown out) and pull the bulb out. Replace the bulb. Line the plastic back up with the opening on the housing turn and lock it into place and reinstall carpet(if it covers)
Shouldnt take more than 30 seconds if you have the new bulb in hand
