A local DJ asked me to come and take some pictures at his events, however I need to find photo equipment?
The DJ host several functions through out the month he seen and heard about some of the pictures I took. However the camera I used is just a basic Digital Camera now I feel a little insecure about outing my self in the spot light of taking pictures of others, but the real issue is can anyone help locate afforable equipemt like green screens, chromakey software, backdrop stand and any tips to help me make a little extra cash
I will be taking pictures of the guest at the party/events who wants there pictures tooken
I shoot events like this all the time.
I hope what you can bill will cover your investment. Better to just use your point and shoot camera for now until you can raise the funds necessary to buy the equipment you seem to need and take some time learning how to use it (up to a few years?)
What exactly are you planning on using the chroma-key?

I use chroma-key from time to time, but since it has to be lit evenly, this means I use it in a studio. At a minimum you will need a background stand similar to the one shown in the link
Here is what I use so you can at least check out what it may cost you to shoot the DJ.
Nikon D300 with 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens and SB600 flash with Gary Fong diffuser. I also use a monopod when shooting without the flash to reduce camera movement (which causes blur).
